Description Janet 2018-12-20 19:27:04 UTC
My problems with the Apache OpenOffice Calc program crashing many times at each usage started in the last version. I hoped the 4.1.6 version would clear that up. I have to save after every 2-3 field entries hoping to beat the crash. The document usually is never fully recovered even if it crashes after the very next time I manually save then enter something (a letter, number, currency, format cell pretty much is all I do...the most very basic stuff) in a new cell. I save only to my document folder on my laptop and back up on my flash drive at each manual save...that is if I can get both manual saves in before the program crashes. I DID UNINSTALL Apache OpenOffice AFTER updating it to 4.1.6 as well as uninstalled again once more AFTER defragging, clearing cache, cleaning disk, clearing history, virus scan, and probably a few more things I forgot to mention. So, long story short, what else could/should I do or are there more Bugs needing to be fixed? Thank you.

Hi Janet,
We handle support request on the users mailinglist [1] or on Forums [2] there are people who look into your case and maybe can help analyzing the Issue.

This Bugtracker is for developers to keep track on their work. So if you can locate what causes this crashes then please feel free to reopen this issue and tell us so we can clear the Issue out. I close this bug to flag that your report, while appreciated is nothing what a developer can act on.

One thing you can try is to reset your profile. Tutorial you find in (3). We have plans to integrate a reset option, and then to eliminate the issue, but for now we depend on manual approach by the community.

Hope this helps, i am sorry for the inconvenience you experience.

All the best
Peter
