STAX is for quite some time available in Java itself. The Dependency from the old module points to saxon. Since we use the almost latest Saxon Version, it is unlikly we need the old Stax implementation.

On dev Discussion at [1] the suggestion pops up, and this is now the formal issue for this step. So far I could not find anythings that speaks against the drop of the separate reference.

I have tested today the bug. Since Stax is referenced by saxon and saxon is so far I could figured out only used in the MS Importer.
So I created a simple docx document With one sentence in it with LO and imported it into AOO.

No Issues detected. For this works.
