Released by Adobe in 2006, and standardized as ISO 32000-1:2008.
This will be fine to export PDF in 1.7 format

Before we even could set PDF 1.7 to default we first need to support export to this version in our code.
Even then, the default should stay with PDF 1.4.

Maybe you want to adjust the issue?

Or better: Write the code! ;-)
