Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 13127
LDAP access: BIND DN ignored, BASE DN required
Last modified: 2008-05-17 23:03:26 UTC
Tryied LDAP type Address DB, in tab 'general' ('allgemein') used username ('benutzername') in form of BIND DN (e.g. 'uid=foo,ou=People,dc=foo,dc=com'), then switched to tab 'tables' ('tabellen') and checked my ldap server log... 1) first, there was no connection attempt at all (error msg says 'No BaseDN provided'). by chance found out that i just had to provide an empty string ' ' as BASE DN to circumvent and get a valid connection/querys attempt. as far as i know a BASE DN is *not* mandatory for LDAP BIND (e.g. mozilla goes without). 2) now connection gets established, but without providing the BIND DN i supplied. <snip> Apr 7 17:05:31 svr slapd[14559]: daemon: conn=72 fd=13 connection from IP=XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX:48620 (IP=XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX:389) accepted. I am mazed. We have added logon support to LDAP?I am trying to add these, but how can you use it Mcmer? Are you using OpenOffice or StarOffice or other oem Office?
no, we don't have support for loggin on to LDAP. In fact, there's in issue requesting it :). There was a time (OOo 1.0.x), where our _user interface_ allowed to set a user name and a password, but this never worked, it was just a wrong UI.
