Last modified: 2003-09-08 16:54:41 UTC
The attached file (which opens fine in OOo 1.0.1) causes 1.1 Beta to crash on start. Here is the command line and the output: ~$ .OpenOffice.org1.1Beta/soffice tmp/brief.ppt /opt/OpenOffice.org644/program/soffice.bin: relocation error: /opt/OpenOffice.org644/program/libsvx644li.so: symbol _ZN36PPTTextParagraphStyleAtomInterpreter4ReadER8SvStreamRK15DffRecordHeader, version UDK_3_0_0 not defined in file libsal.so.3 with link time reference

What version of glibc are you using? This is said to be a glibc bug. See issues 10210 and 11706. Also, does running openoffice with the command env LD_BIND_NOW=yes ooffice help?
If it's not the glibc bug, we can reopen it. *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 10210 ***
My libc6 version is 2.3.1-17. If I 'export LD_BIND_NOW=yes', before launching OpenOffice and opening the file, it works correctly.
This task in status 'resolved duplicated' and will be closed now. If you don't think, that this task is fixed when the referenced bug is fixed, please re-open this task.
