Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 1388
some projects have to be made private/removed at upgrade
Last modified: 2013-08-07 15:24:38 UTC
some projects have to be made private at upgrade because they are outdated or upcoming. Make private and remove from category projects: docs (Owner st) Configuration (Owner mh) collabnet (Owner louis) metrics (Owner louis) test (Owner louis, st, mh) I don't know what to do with: look (Owner louis)
I created a Project Group 'testprojects' and moved docs (Owner st) Configuration (Owner mh) collabnet (Owner louis) metrics (Owner louis) test (Owner louis, st, mh) into this group. Still open is look, because I don't know the consequences.
reassigning to louis for maintenance.
will do. Deleted look, and the other nonOOO projects from the projects group. (the project is not deleted, it just won't show up in the group list) I think we should trash the "test" group and its constituent projects, once testing is over with. the other website-related projects should be in a category: website, or some such, for clarity's sake.
Complete.
I (almost fully) agree with Louis' proposal: - remove group testprojects - remove projects collabnet, Configuration, docs, metrics, st-test - let project test for general testing purposes exist - Create Category "Website" add www, look migrate content of project website to category website add test? Louis, I can take the action item of removals :-)
Regarding the privatizing of some projects... Bill Phipps explained to me that we chose at the transition to use a single-database mode for OpenOffice.org. The plus of this: all developers could see their IZs across projects. The minus: we cannot create a private project, which would use separate database. It is possible that in migrating to solaris we can implement a dual database (private/public), but that is a separate discussion that must take place. For now, as a solution, I'll do what I did in tigris: create projects that are invisible and hence private by virtue of not being listed in the "projects" page. louis
created project webworks and included those elements pertaining to the web. this is not a private category or project, being as we do not have that capability. closing issue.
should we remove the projects "metrics" and "collabnet"?
yes. don't see any reason to keep them around as such, though they are hardly obtrusive louis
I will go ahead an remove them.
finally removed project collabnet. For testing purposes we have "test".
