Description lduperval 2003-05-02 12:54:39 UTC
If you manually override a paragraph format using the buttons on the toolbars,
when you update the style for that paragraph, it will not be updated.

For example,

- create a new document
- type two separate paragraphs
- Select all of the second paragraph
- change the font to Bold
- Click in the first paragraph
- select "Modify paragraph style"
- Change the font to bold and apply. Now both paragraphs are bold
- Select "Modify Paragraph Style" again in the first paragraph
- Change the font style to be normal. The first paragraph reverts to normal but
the second one remains bold

This behaviour is correct but may be surprising for people that are not used to
applying styles.

One way to give feedback for paragraphs such as the second one, is to show the
name of the style differently in the status bar. For example, the name of the
style for the first paragraph would be "Default" while the second one would say
"Default*". Here the asterisk would denote a paragraph which overrides at least
one setting of the paragraph style.

To grep the issues easier via "requirements" I put the issues currently lying on
my owner to the owner "requirements".
