Description robert.kinsella 2003-05-13 11:38:31 UTC
OpenOffice.org 1.1 beta2, solaris sparc 9.
(if this is assigned to the incorrect category, please reassign)

Sparc
When installing OO.org, it does not recognise java 1.3.1_04 or java 1.4.0_01. It
does recognise java 1.4.1_02

On Linux, the installation does not recognise java 1.3.1_01, but does
successfully install with java 1.4.0_02.

There appears to be an inconsistency here, in that on sparc it will not use
1.4.0 but on linux it will work with 1.4.0 . I am assuming that the defined
version of java's which are allowed are not dependent on the( using format
x.x.x_yy) yy value of the java revision??.

Can someone define what is the minimum java version required please ??.
Is there now different versions of java required for different platforms, if so
where are they defined ??.
Comment 1 robert.kinsella 2003-05-13 12:19:50 UTC
after further testing it was found that java1.4.0_02 appears to be the
minimum java installation required (java 1.4.1_01 does not work).
Closing issue as invalid.
