Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 14630
Bezier editors "add point" functionality is broken.
Last modified: 2007-01-08 11:23:14 UTC
The bezier editor in draw has a function to add a point to a line or curve. When trying to add a point to a curve that is not a straight line, it does not work. You have to move the mouse after clicking on the curve for the point to be added, leading to undesirable distortion. The control points for the segment are also not adjusted properly. For example, converting an ellipse to a curve and then adding a point to one of the four bezier segments leads to something that has a dent in it (see attachment).
Created attachment 6274 [details] Example of misplaced bezier control points.
Described behaviour is reproduceable in 1.1beta2 and current internal version. Please have a look if something could be done about this. Thanks.
Reassigned to Armin.
AW: Yes, this is a missing feature, thus i changed to feature. The original implementor of DrawingLayer never intended to use the tangents at the split point if curves are split (as would be normal). I will try to take care of this in the work for OOo 2.0.
AW:.
"According to the OpenOffice.org roadmap (http://tools.openoffice.org/releases) this issue was retargeted to OOo Later."
AW: This is realized in aw024, adding this task.
AW: in aw024, the correct split of the curve is used.
*** Issue 57119 has been marked as a duplicate of this issue. ***
Changed to enhancement.
Target changed.
AW->WG: From external, please verify. In curves, add point will now split the curve, in polygons it will just ad a polygon point.
Verified in CWS.
Target adapted.
Tested in m196. Closed.
