Description antares 2003-05-27 12:58:59 UTC
Long-clicking on (e.g.) the "Insert Object" button opens the corresponding
floating toolbar window.

This window cannot be closed (under Gnome/Debian-Linux).
Comment 1 lohmaier 2003-05-31 15:50:40 UTC
cannot reproduce.
These windows should be handled by your window-manager and thus should
be closed like any other window (usually an Icon in the title-bar or a
keyboard-shortcut).
If the problem persists please give more information about your setup
(which windowmanager, what theme,...) (comment as well when the
problem is solved!)
Comment 2 antares 2003-06-02 09:09:13 UTC
I am using debian/gnome/sawfish, and the problem disappears when using
metacity.

The toolbar is positioned in the middle of the screen, without a close
button. OOo1.0 did not cause this problem.

YOu can configure sawfish to draw only borders or only the title bar
for windows belonging to a certain group/class/name.
Use sawfish-ui to create a new rule for OpenOffice.org Windows:
run sawfish-ui
select "matched windows"
hit "add" and choose matcher: "Class", choose grab and select the
OpenOffice.org main window. A string similar to this one should be
entered in the textbox: "^OpenOffice\.org 1\.1/VCLSalFrame$" (without
the quotes)
under actions choose view -> Frame type "title only" or similar

you can of course use a more detailed approach (no need to set it
globally for OOo).

You can as well use gnome-control-center to make these settings..

Problem with window manager (->external thing) -> invalid)
No Problem with
