Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 15267
Spellcheck problem with straight and typographic apostrophes
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:42:08 UTC
Maybe this is this a lingucomponent problem? If, while custom single quotes are disabled, I add a word to the dictionary that contains an apostrophe, the word will be considered a spelling error if I later enable custom single quotes and retype the apostrophe. Vice versa. For instance the spellchecker considers Babington's to be a different word than Babington?s. Shouldn't both be considered the same word?
Hi, Actually, anything having to do with the user's own dictionary is not part of lingucomponent. So this is a bug but probably not in lingucomponent! So I am reassigning this to writer to be properly evaluated by Hamburg. I am also adding myself to CC on this since I am pretty sure a similar issue might happen if custom single quotes are enabled as well with MySpell. I will check that. Thanks for your bug report! Kevin
Reassigned to MRU
MRU->TL: that's true... when I have added a word containing an apostrophe to the dic, Later in the text it is not recognized, when it's written with an typographic apostrophe. This once worked in SO 5.2. To be fixed in the spellchecker or in the break iterator?
