Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 15287
Unable to import .doc files created by 602Pro PC SUITE
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:43:45 UTC
I have downloaded the 602Pro PC Suite and edited, using PC Suite, a MS Word document that was originally created in MS Office. I then saved the edited MS Word document and tried to open it in OO 1.1 Beta2 and also with OO 1.03 on a friend's computer. Upon trying to open the resaved .doc file, both OO 1.1 Beta2 and OO 1.03 will hang on the importing file process. MS is able to open the copy of the resaved document without problems.
reassigned to mru
Please attach the documents, so we can test and confirm it. also please try it using 1.1 Rc4 please.
TayEug, please attach the offending file to this issue, so that we can reproduce the problem here. Also please check if the problem still exists with OO 1.1 RC4. Meanwhile there were some fixes in im-/export to Word format. Feel free to re-open the issue, when you have done. Thanks for supportig us! Michael
Reopened. Recieved offending file via mail.
MRU->CMC: looks like a non-regular WW format, which lets OO loop. The same opened and saved with OO can be opened without problem. Please have a look, if filter could be extended to accept this. Bugdoc will be sent via Mail.
Document contains a "normal" style which is set as being based on itself instead of 4095 to indicate the null style. cmc->mru: We could do this for 1.1.1 as well if you think its necessary.
Reopen to reassign
cmc->mru: Workaround for styles based on themselves working in killarneyfilterteam13
MRU->CMC: I have checked the fix in CWs killarneyfilterteam13. Though it seems the loop is insisted by the defect format of the bugdoc, you're right, a crash/loop should be fixed asap... please commit for 1.1.1.
Righteo, will work in droghedafilterteam15 for 1.1.1
bad target
reopen to reassign
cmc->mru: Working in droghedafilterteam15
Fix also checked in CWs droghedafilterteam15.
Verified. Fix will be included in OO 1.1.1.
Checked fix with srx645m27. Will be definitely in soon upcoming OO 1.1.1.
