This bug has been filed internally as PCN 5585 and is being 
investigated.

This defect has been fixed.  Qmail was restarted and the queue is 
emptying.  It may take a couple of hours for the archives to fully 
stabilize, but everything is under control now.

As agreed by Louis I will close these resolved fixed kat (support)-owned issues
