Description krzychu 2003-06-12 14:28:27 UTC
OO (all existing versions) has no problems with proper displaying characters
from CP1250 code page - if such document was created by MS Word.
But after saving in this format, all polish specific characters are shown as
their equivalents from ISO8859-1 codepage while opened in OO itself or MS Word.
I'm writing "shown" because if I browse such document in antiword viewer
(character browser for MS Word documents), everything is OK. It loooks like
characters are correctly encoded, by for some reason are not displayed properly
by OO and MS Word (any version). The same problem exists for OO on Windows.

Comment 6 krzychu 2003-09-12 15:22:18 UTC
Yes, I can. Here are 4 files: chars_pl.sxw - the source document
created in OO-1.0.1 (there is no difference in this area in 1.1beta2),
and 3 other documents as the result of saving in MS Word 6.0 format
(chars_pl_6.doc), MS Word 95 (chars_pl_95.doc) and MS Word 2000/XP
(chars_pl_2000.doc). Only the last one looks as it should.

Thanks for the attachements. but I didnt have the font to display it.
hope somebody else can cehck this
Comment 8 krzychu 2003-09-14 13:33:14 UTC
To display all polish characters contained in chars_pl, you will have
to install Times New Roman font. Up to last year it was possible to
download it from www.microsoft.com/typography/fontpack/default.htm.
Now, there is information that "Web fonts program is discontinued".
But there is no information, that using previously downloaded fonts
from this site is forbidden. So I will attach times32.exe below.

Known issue. Will be fixed in OO 2.0. See issue 12369 for further
