A preliminary version of the API and a preliminary implementation are
ready and commited to the child workspace. The implementation does not
affect any office functionality, so no regressions can be introduced.

I do not send a feature mail since the API is still in preliminary
state. But Scripting framework team would like to merge those changes
to their workspace so it is integrated.
