Making a (either fulltext or simple) search over a datasource is very slow when
done in a form. Although there are certain differences (a search in MySQL is of
course somewhat faster than in a DBase data source) the behaviour does not
change with different types of datasources.
To compare OO data-base-access with the most likely competitor, MS Access, a
search done through a form was ca. 60 times faster in Access.
This seems to result from OO loading every entry of the data source in the form
and then searching it instead of querying the data source directly and only give
the result in the form.
