Description maxkennedy 2003-06-26 07:51:12 UTC
This issue is similar to issue 15194, and I discovered it
after applying the fix mentioned in issue 15362.

Open up Writer. Insert a graphic. Change focus to graphic.
Notice spell can be accessed, but thesaurus can not be.
Change focus off graphic. Now spell and thesaurus can be
accessed.

Expected results: Spell and thesaurus can always be accessed
to work through document even if focus is on a graphic.

Actual result: Spell check and thesaurus aren't working
alike.

Hi,

FWIW, I don't think this is a bug at all. Spell checking is done on the whole ducument
and Thesaurus lookup is done on the current selection (where the cursor is) and does
not work on the entire document (nor will it search for the next word, ...).

So if the cursor is over a graphic, the thesaurus should be disabled since there is not
way to lookup alternative meanings for a graphic.

No, this is of course not a bug. As Kevin stated, the spelling is
started to scan the whole text for errors, the Thesaurus is only used
on certain words. Thus Thesaurus does not make sense when a
graphic/object is selected.

Closed, because not a bug.
