Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 16563
Copy & Paste of Table Areas Containing Merged Cells Broken
Last modified: 2003-11-12 15:45:11 UTC
Situation: - a table with 2 columns and three rows - the two top left cells are merged - select the (merged) top lef cell and the two cells right to it - copy the selection - position the cursor in the bottom left cell - paste the selection Expected Behaviour: - the selection replaces the row the cursor is in with a merged cell to the left and two cells to the right Actual (Buggy) Behaviour: - the two cells to the right get merged into one in the pasted area The siuation is the same for horizontally merged cells in that here as well merged cells get squashed into one unmerged cell. Further, selecting a target area for the paste does have no effect. The above means in effect that copying & pasting substructures of tables is impossible.
Andree, thank you for using and supporting OOo. Does this problem still exist in the latest version of OOo? If so, please attach a document that we can use to reproduce this problem.
The issue does still exist in 1.1rc1. Anyway, I'll create a file with the table I start out with, the table with the wrong paste result and a table that shows what I expect to see. HTH & thanks a lot for looking into this! Andree

Is this the same as the inability to copy a formula from a merged cell to a merged cell? I get an error message when I try. If this is different, I will file a separate issue for it.
I think this is a duplicate of Issue 11402 *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 11402 ***
