Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 16643
Exporting highlighted Hebrew text from OO to word inciorrectly changes font sizes
Last modified: 2013-08-07 15:00:39 UTC
Exporting highlighted Hebrew text from OO to word inciorrectly changes font sizes- some of the text becomes larger, some of it becomes smaller. It is intresting to note that word XP and OO write do not display the doc file the same way: * in word, some text is larger and some smaller * on oo write, all the text is smaller. In both cases, the exported word file is NOT displayed like the original write file
Created attachment 7524 [details] zip file with: original write file, exported doc, screen shots of the original, of the doc in word and the doc in oo
DL->CMC: Would you please takeover?
cmc->mru: Using OpenOffice 1.1rc3 I get correct output on export to .doc, not the mess I see in highlight.doc
Switching font sizes I cannot reproduce anymore, but I know, that we once had a bug there in the export. MRU->CMC: But what you still can see: when opening the exported file in WW, in some places you have Times New Roman font instead of the originally used font "David".
Indeed, I see it now. Interesting, word requires hints (unlike writer) as to which direction the text is going, and uses the same hints to choose the font to use. The export needs to provide better hints. This is fixed for 1.1.1 (waterfordfilterteam12)
Reopen to reassign
cmc->mru: Good catch, now working in waterfordfilterteam12
Checked fix in CWS waterfordfilterteam12.
Verified. Fix will be delivered with OO 1.1.1.
Fix checked in CWS filter13, which means, will also be fixed for OO 2.0.
Checked fix with srx645m27 for upcoming OO 1.1.1.
