Description rtrout 2003-07-14 04:37:26 UTC
The bug: the data in a data source is modified, but the modification doesn't
appear in the data sources window and doesn't appear in a mail merge, until
after OOo is restarted. Only tested on Spreadsheet data source types.

Desired result: data source should read latest data on a mail merge, and allow a
manual update, eg. 'Refresh Data Source' in the Data Sources window.

How to reproduce: Create a spreadsheet with 3 fields a,b,c and 2 data rows:
john, smith, 12345678 & mary, jones, 87654321. Create a data source using the
above spreadsheet. Create a document that uses the data source as a mail merge
document. Produce sample mail merge output. Now modify the original spreadsheet,
eg change mary, jones to mary, citizen. Produce sample mail merge output again
and the data hasn't changed from jones to citizen. Also, using the Data Sources
window, drilling into the table holding the database fields, shows the original
data not the update. Close all OpenOffice windows and exit QuickStarter and
restart OOo. Load the sample document again and produce sample mail merge output
- data is now updated.
