Description lsuarezpotts 2003-07-23 18:24:14 UTC
Hi,
Kristen, would you please ask ops to update, on a weekly basis, every Friday afternoon Pacific
Time, all staticized pages on OOo?

As well, we would like a list of these pages posted to an issue assigned to Stefan
(st@openoffice.org), Martin (mh@openoffice.org), and me (louis@openoffice.org).

thanks
Louis

Update: Logged this request with operations, PCN 20883.
Action Plan: Awaiting their response.
Next Update: By end of day Friday.
Thanks,
Kristen

Update: Operations reported that the staticizing script runs every
few minutes and checks for changes in pages. If someone checks a new
version of a staticized page, the script updates the static
page within a few minutes.
Action Plan: Support will follow up on the request for a list of the
staticized pages.
Next Update: By end of day Tuesday.
Thanks,
Kristen

Hi,
the update of pages works fine, if the page itself is changed.
But when the left-hand navigation bar (look/www/master/Nav_Column.wm)
is changed, ALL static pages have to be regenerated.
We would like to see this happen once a week.
Thanks, Stefan

Stefan, Ops in CN has indicated that for an update to take place weekly there will have
to be a specific enhancement request. The recommendation is that it be brought
before the Thursday issue council as an RFE perhaps requiring an SOW.

Louis

Neither Martin nor I will be available this Thurday (2003-07-31).
So, we will live another two weeks with outdated (regarding the
navbar) static pages pointing to non-existent pages.

Reassigning to Louis. Please reassign to support when new related
tasks come through.
Thanks,
Kristen

hi, kristen, welcome back!
actually, this issue should stay with support, and support should wrestle it with ops in
CollabNet :) If it is with support, we can also track it. Louis issues are not tracked the
same way.
I can kibbitz of course.
reassigning.
cheers

closing as invalid irrrelevant. the new program is to update staticized files every hour and to
staticize most frequently requested.

This issue asked for two things:

a) Update of all staticized pages on a regular basis
This means that all static pages should be re-staticized to reflect changes in
the surrounding elements like the logo and toolbox entries.

b) A mean to retrieve a list of all staticized pages
Given that a) is not available a recent list of all staticized pages would allow
to update static pages manually.
Comment 12 Unknown 2004-02-03 23:01:30 UTC
the original task has been completed. if the commentary in B above is still
relevant a new task or enhancement should be filed.
Comment 13 stx123 2004-03-22 16:08:59 UTC
For technical reasons we have to move the issue to another subcomponent tan 'www'.
Sorry for bothering you with this generated notification message. There is no
need for any action from yor side.
Thanks for your understanding, Stefan
