Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 1799
Integrate PDF as a document format or printing option
Last modified: 2003-03-13 10:28:15 UTC
Many users use PDF as part of their workflow. This has long been available in Star/OpenOffice, but only to users who were aware of the various steps needed to create PDF output. I.e., to generate PDF currently, users must know that: * `Print to File' generates PostScript * Postscript can be turned into pdf with the ps2pdf command (and the syntax and command line knowledge involved) * ps2pdf as shipped on most Unix platforms is buggy and won't handle certain filenames. This levels of knowledge makes it quite difficult for new users o generate PDF files. PDF should be avaliable as a special `export' document format or via the printing dialog.
Reassigned to Hasan.
Linx, please have a look for this.
This is what the option to create a PDF printer in spadmin is for. Please start spadmin and create a PDF printer (you should either have ghostscript or acrobat distiller in your path) and simply print to that printer to create a PDF.
As mentioned on the qa dev list on March 5th I will close all resolved <wontfix/duplicate/worksforme/invalid> issues. Please see this posting for details. First step in IssueZilla is unfortunately to set them to verified.
