Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 18211
OO doesn't convert MS equations, although it's set in options
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:42:08 UTC
New RC doesn't convert MS Equations in OO at *.doc loading, so they are graphics objects and cannot be edited. MathType to OO Math conversion is set in options. Why does each new RC or beta contain NEW equation related bug?
Created attachment 8468 [details] simple example, try to open in OO 1.1RC3 and edit equation
Additional data - the opened as graphics equations look bad if they consist from one symbol. Look at the file http://www.openoffice.org/issues/showattachment.cgi?attach_id=8058&file=welding_article_doc.zip in the bug http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=17484 to see it.
I've changed priority to higher one - this bug breaks existing functionality.
Confirmed -- WinXPPro/1.1rc3 using reporter provided document. Tam

Yes, can see the bug. Is already fixed with internal build for OO 1.1.1.
Does it mean the upcoming release 1.1.0 will be impossible to edit Microsoft MathType formulae? It is significant decrease in compatibility with MS Office.
No, we now integrate the fix also for the final of OO 1.1.0. As you said, it is a decrease in functionality.
Hi, Thanks for including that in OOo 1.1.0 Would you please let us know which revisions or modules to cvs update to get these fixes so that rc4 build so that PPC Linux and other contrib ports get the fixes too. Thanks, Kevin
This should be graphics/svx/source/msfilter/ cvs diff -r1.78 -r1.78.70.1 msdffimp.cxx
