Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 18939
api/www/menu.html not being published
Last modified: 2004-08-04 06:53:18 UTC
Hi, we have tried to update api/www/menu.html and have succeeded in committing it but it won't publish. I do not believe this page is staticized. thanks Louis
Update: Logged issue 22020 requesting that engineering look into this problem. Thanks, Kristen
Hi, I found that this issue is already started but have no target. Please consider to set the target, as it is already started. Thanks
Michael, You need to rename api/www/menu.html with api/www/project_tools.html the menu should then appear. please confirm if it works. louis
More information all projects now have this capability. Please use this format: If someone wants to add a custom link to a project nav, all they need to do is to create a file named project_tools.html under [projectname]/www/ and populate it as: <div><a href="link">foo</a></div> <div><a href="link">bar</a></div> <div><a href="link">duh</a></div> -louis
Hi, mmh, it seems to work a little bit. I did several things: 1. rename menu.html -> project_tools.html -> seems to be ok 2. try to use <div> tags -> spacing between <div> tags was to big and if i should use this tags i will need the possibility to create my own hierarchy (submenu) 3. go bag to renamed menu.html and did some tiny changes -> i got some strange merge comments between two version (currently visible online). Looks like an update problem on the server side.
grrrr: bag -> back :-)
JSC: the menu is not always visible. - clicking on "Developer's Guide" -> nothing, no page no menu or anything else is visible, only a blank page - clicking on "SDK" -> side ok, menu not visible for me - cliecking on "Tips 'n' Tricks" -> side ok and menu is visible
added other PCN issue # louis
hi the api menu has merge conflict. has an issue been filed? it is separate from this. louis
To clarify, DO NOT add html tags to the project_tools.html page. just the ones described above. The links you add to project_tools.html file will appear appended to the bottom of the tool box. None of the existing links will disappear. -louis

I have already written, that i have tested that. But using only the <div> tags will create all entries on the same menu level, no sub menus and spacing between the items was to big. It is not same as before. We want to structure the different menu items and don't want to list them simply. The renamed menu.html file has worked at my first try. My last version 1.5 dosen't contain any merge conflicts -> it must be a problem on the server side. New version 1.6 contains now only div tags and looks probably ugly again. It is not updated :-(
jsc. okay, the only place where there may be issues is with some browsers. If it works for you... ;) cheers louis BTW, I'm still seeing merge conflicts. See IZ # http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=23361
Yes i'm seeing merge conflicts too but these conflicts are not in the api/project_tools.html file. It seems that the last version wasn't updated.
Support, Please look at these conflicts. I've created a PCN IZ to track all such: 24622 Louis
JSC: I can't browse the faq.html page, neither using the link of my menu nor insert the URL http://api.openoffice.org/faq.html directly. Any hints?
Juergen, please do not recycle issues or add different problems to one issue. The menu in the project tools box is now hierarchical and looks ok for me. There are no merge conflicts anymore. Please file a separate issue for the problem with faq.html
For technical reasons we have to move the issue to another subcomponent tan 'www'. Sorry for bothering you with this generated notification message. There is no need for any action from yor side. Thanks for your understanding, Stefan
Hi Louis, I verified that the link works. Can we close this issue? Aniruddha
I think, the issue is resolved.
