Description fabienst 2003-09-10 16:30:27 UTC
I use a SXC file as datasource for a mailing.
Open the Openoffice Text program and load the mailing file.
Now open Datasource (F4 or menu View | Datasource)
View the datasource (the one with the SXC)
Open the SXC file in openoffice
modify it (add records or add sheets ('Feuilles' in French)
Save the SXC file
Now look if you can see the changes in the datasource viewer (F4).
It is not possible for me to see the data update in the viewer. I also tried
to use the refresh/reconstitute button that is in the datasource viewer, but
it still doesn't update. The only way for me to see the changes was to close
openoffice completely and reopen it.

I don't know if the problem also exists with other data sources. Anybody tried
?

Good luck.

Fabien, this definately is no P2, according to
http://www.openoffice.org/issues/bug_status.html#priority.
Additionally, you're not allowed to simply change a target (and
especially such a bug would not make it into 1.1 which is pretty near
to being released).
Thanks for reporting this, anyway :)

The problem you describe here is known, it's that the spreadsheet
driver does not update it's tables when the underlying file changed.
This is known as issue 9899.
