Description Unknown 2003-09-17 04:48:20 UTC
In the attached file, no matter how I spell any word, the spellcheck fails.
Auto-checking doesn't underline anything.
Manual checking says that everything is fine.

(the file is a boring school assignment on poetry...also somewhat amusing)

There is no language attribute set for the text!

To do this select all the text (of one language) and open the
"Format/Character..." dialog in the tab page "Font" select the proper
language to use. Currently there is no language set and thus nothing
can be spelled.

Still broken after changing the character settings to either
UK/English and US/English.

with further investigation I have found that spellcheck shows this
problem when every i changed styles styles. So, you may have to
actually modify your templates to fix the problem.

TL->MRU: please have a look. Thanks!

As Thomas mentioned, you have to assigna language to the text. Open
the document, go to the properties of the "Default" paragraph style
(i.e. via rightclick in the Stylist window) and apply "English US" or
"UK" to the text. This should solve your problem.

Closed as "works for me". User error, not OO.
