Description lars 2003-09-21 01:31:26 UTC
just a note: inserting images get auto sized to fit onto the page if they don't
fit otherwise.

this functionality is however severely broken; as is the resize function for
which I already filed an issue. As is teh undo function when resizing images for
which I havent fioled an issue, resizing and placing the image to "arbitrary"
positions then.
Or when changing a caption frames spacing to a text: an image got resized when
doing so.

I'm very fed up with this and if I find the energy wil investigate this further
tomorrow. In the mean time: work with inserting (large (20 to 30% of the pages
length)) images at paraghraph and page borders to find all connected issues
yourselves.

wait : "fed up" : this sounds harsher than it was meant to be (I'm
just tired and saying: "no. a resize defect. restart OOo and try to
avoid it. again time "lost"); perhaps I should always consult a
dictionary first...
Comment 2 lars 2003-09-21 02:01:07 UTC
there is a terribly shitty arbitrarily suddenly resizing images which
rest calmly in the middle of a page when adding a paragraph break
somewhere and the undo function doesn't undo this (but the paragraph
break) defect present :-(

Ok guys, I've got a documet where you can reproduce the behaviour. You
can also reproduce other bugs with this document which you can't
reproduce if you try to do it from a fresh document. This document was
created with OOo 1.1 RC4 and received content from documents created
with OOo 1.1 RC3 and from OOo 1.0.0 via RC3.

goto page 20

illustration 6 s caption frame spacing bottom to text is -0.19 when
you open the wrap tab of the Frame... dialogue. You can only choose
between 0 and -0.19. Now set it to 0 and click OK. Set it to 0 a
second time and witness all sorts of weird page "empty paragraphs ge
inserted" bugs.
After you've set the bottom spacing to 0 once, move the illustration
and see it getting auto resized.

Please only use one comment for an issue, unless it is really
necessary. in this issue you add 4 comment in one day. it is not good,
and can make the QA people confuse.

HI->OD: Strange behavior of the frame on Page 20. Prio changed from P1.
Comment 7 Oliver-Rainer Wittmann 2003-10-23 14:08:28 UTC
accepted.
Issue describes two defects:
(1) Incorrect calculation and handling of the wrap distance - negative
values aren't sensible and causes confusion and wrong values.
(2) Incorrect resizing of a frame containing a graphic.
