Description Unknown 2003-09-27 19:26:50 UTC
When I click on a link to open a .doc in a webpage I get an error with Open
office that says "The host name [server address] could not be resolved." Now I
know word will open the .doc on this particular site so it's def an openoffice
and not a server prob.

Please explain more about your problem, your information is not enough
to investigate the problem. Please explain step by step.
is that OOo is as default application for Doc at that time, or MS Word ?
can you give me the URL, so we can try it ?

 Thanks

Comment 3 michael.ruess 2003-10-06 11:36:39 UTC
Of course not a filter problem, as everybody can see from the error
message...

do you use Internet as shared ? or only single
do you use firewall, if yes, which one
Which IE you are using ?

If the *.doc file is not on a local volume but in the internet, so
please check OOo´s Internet settings (like proxy-settings). Otherwise
OOo won´t be able to connect to the internet to load the *.doc file.

Without additional info about this problem (like it´s behaviour in a RC5), we
aren´t able to reproduce it. So this issue may be closed after 14 days if
additional information is still missing.
Comment 8 thorsten.martens 2004-01-08 13:22:50 UTC
Due to missing further requested information and being not reproducible, this
issue has been closed.
