Description Unknown 2003-10-06 20:46:33 UTC
MS Powerpoint allows to embed charts from MS Graph objects. I imported a MS
Powerpoint into OO and the problem is that some pie charts have squares instead
of slices. When opening the object with Open or Edit, MS Graph shows the
correct image and returning to OO shows the pie chart but with some lines and
garbage in the middle. Some other pie charts are shown correctly

Reassigned to Christian.
Comment 2 utomo99 2003-10-07 07:40:30 UTC
Please Attach the documents which make this problem, so we can test
it/faster to confirm.
(Without the documents, we cannot confirm the problem easily/need more
time)
Don't forget to cut other part of the documents, so the file size is
small, but we still able to see the problem.
Comment 3 christian.guenther 2003-10-07 09:34:15 UTC
I created a document with all pie charts in PPT but I can't reproduce
the bug.
Utomo99 is right, a sample document will help us to reproduce the bug.
Comment 4 christian.guenther 2003-10-22 15:46:02 UTC
Please have a look if the bug still occures with OOo1.1
Please attach a sample document if the bug still occures.

I can Reproduce the problem on
OpenOffice 1.1 (default Install, US), Win XP Pro Sp1.
(And MS Office XP Sp2).
It is real problem

Both pie chart is not displayed in OOo. OOo only show a square.
Comment 8 christian.guenther 2003-10-27 10:20:17 UTC
I can reproduce the bug with the attached document.
If you change into the editmode of the pie charts and leave it again
they looks ok.
Please have a look.

Hi Thorsten,
can you please takeover this issue. If you are activating the ole
object in a MS Office up from 2000, then the ole objects can be
displayed in OOo. The problem seems to be that ole objects created in
a older version are making excessive usage of region clipping. Because
region clipping can't easily be converted to a device independent
solution, we are in big trouble. Currently we are mapping each
clipping to a polygon clipping. But due to performance problems I
limited the polypolygon clipping so that it is including up to a
maximum of WIN_MTF_MAX_POLYPOLYCOUNT (16) polygons. This seems to be
the problem.

This can be valueless, but here it goes: I went to Office Depot to
print this PPT to a laser color printer (Xerox, I guess) and NO PIE
CHART was printed from this specific slide even it was printed using
MS Powerpoint. On the other hand, printing this slide to a deskjet
printer is correct.

Okay, will take a look. Although Sven's comment suggests something
like a draw situation here: either doing it correctly, and blowing
mem/time constraints, or doing it as is, within the limits. We'll see.

Along the way, changed prio to 4, regarding the facts as described above.
Comment 13 christian.guenther 2004-04-27 14:56:11 UTC
I change the target

WFM in OOo m223
Chart2 module has fixed this issue?
Comment 15 IngridvdM 2009-04-29 09:37:08 UTC
I cannot reproduce the problem with OOo 3.0 anymore. The problem seems to have
vanished.
