Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 20968
Automatic double-line when automatic list is on.
Last modified: 2013-02-07 22:32:41 UTC
I have a numbered list with one line in between each item (paragraph). When I create a new line (pressing Enter key) MS Word automatically adds the line between the previuos paragraph and the new one I'm creating. OO doesn't: it creates the new paragraph just below the previous one. I'll try to attach a couple of jpg images to explain this.

reassigned to mci
Hi luismmartinezr, thanks for using and supporting OpenOffice... If you don't want to select the list and set line space to double you may try this: -> [Ctrl]+[2] to enable double line space -> Insert the List as usual -> [Ctrl]+[1] to disable double line space and set back to sinle line spacing... If this doesn't help you send a new comment and we will make an enhancement wish out of this... I'll wait until 12/15/2003...
mci: your workaround works just fine. It is just desirable to have similar functionality to MS Word. I'm new user in this issue tracking system so I don't know how to close this issue under status "workaround provided" or something like that. Regards.
I think a feature that adds an extra empty line between items of numbered lists automatically if the user has begun the list with an extra empty line is a bad feature. It encourages bad formatting. Better modify the Indents and Spacing settings in the paragraph style that's being used for numbered lists. However, I will comfirm this for the developers to decide.
