Description dankelley 2003-10-13 13:12:41 UTC
Preface. This follows up on something I originally reported as bug It's been suggested to
me that I report it as an enhancement request, and assign it to BH.

Request. It would be great if the formula editor would start with a large font,
when being used in the Presenter. The font it uses, 12 point, makes a lot of
sense for textual documents, but for presentations, a font of 30 or so would
make more sense. Otherwise, every formula requires extra work ... and in fact I
didn't realize I could resize the font when I first started using it, hence the
bug report!

PS. I hope this is the right place to put this request. I wasn't sure whether I
should put it under Formula or Presenter. Also, the 'assigned' and 'cc' lists I
devised based on the thread of the bug ... I hope it's OK to name the friendly
folks who have been thinking about this. Dan.

TL: Changed component to "Presentation". This is not a "Formula
Editor" issue.

The default font-size in Math matches the one from the Writer.

If the font size of Math should match the applications default font
size it can be done like this:
When a *new* formula is inserted in the application (e.g. Impress),
directly after that the application has to access the formulas model
and change the property for the base font height of the formula to
mach those of the application.

There will still remain some other inconveniences when expanding the
idea of this issue though.
For example if a formula from the writer (usually using 12pt for font
size) is inserted in Impress either via drag&drop or cut-copy-paste it
will most probably not change is font size.
But probably it can be done very similar. But MBA should be asked
about this.
The main question would be if we would like to do such things.

For the original issue (initial size of new fomulas) though I think it
will be nice if it would be implemented that way.

Issue still applies.

TL->CL: If you like to implement this there is a property named 'BaseFontHeight'.
See IDL for css.formula.FormulaProperties.

Since issue 67283 is fixed by now changing the 'BaseFontHeight' via UNO should
work fine if issue 85282 gets fixed as well.

TL->CL: Please take action as you see fit. Thanks!
