Accents and/or other special chars get lost in the current document when:
1.- A save-as dialog is opened
2.- An Open dialog is opened
3.- Maybe other dialogs....dont know yet

A new document opened through the Open dialog will have special chars OK, its
the preceeding (the one where you clicked the Open File icon or menu) document
where special chars get lost.

A user reported this for portuguese, im reporting it for spanish as well. (es_MX) 

It also seems to be a linux problem as the Portuguese user did not find the bug
under windows.
