Description rkollien 2003-10-21 15:56:33 UTC
In the config dialog: If you remove the path of the standard autotext location,
"executing" an autotext via the F3 key is not possible. This occurs only if the
standard path of the autotext dir <oo-instdir>/share/autotext/<lang> is deleted.

Background:
1) we don't want the standard autotexts provided with the distribution and don't
want to have an entry named "Standard" in the autotext maintaince dialog.
2) we use a separate dir for the user autotext to be sure this is not overwriten
by a update/reinstall.
3) we dont't have/want a system wide autotext dir.

So in the config dialog we changed the pathes for autotext to only
"$HOME/Documents/OOffice/Autotext". Now when you start writer and want to use
autotext, the F3-key is without function. You first have to invoke the autotext
maintainance dialog via Ctrl-F3. You than can immediatelly close it by hiting
the ESC-key or closing it via the Cancel- or OK-Button. At this moment you can
use the F3-key as usual to "execute" a stored autotext. This only happens if the
default path to autotext, pointing to the install dir, is removed.
As we added the standard dir to the paths for autotext again, the F3-key does
the job as expected. It is only neccessary that the path to the standard
autotext directory in the INSTALLDIR of OpenOffice is present. The standard path
in the users home dir can be changed or removed.

Testcase:
- open Writer
- go to tools/options/path
- for autotext remove the path entry pointing to the "systemwide" autotext dir
(normally <installdir>/share/autotext/<lang> on Linux).
- close and reopen writer
- hit F3
-> nothing happens
- go to tools/options/path
- select autotext and klick "Default"
- close and reopen writer
- hit F3
-> Dialog "autotext for '' not found". This is correct.

System: Linux gcc 2.2.5/Windows2000/Win98
OOo-Version: 1.0.3 and 1.1.0

Confirmed RH9/680m11

This behavior occurs not only when the server path is deleted, but
also when it is restored -- F3 functionality is nullified until the
AutoText dialog is opened and then closed.

Comment 5 Thorsten Stache 2013-07-22 11:55:27 UTC
Also when i use the default configuration and write the autotext to 'my autotext' in 'C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\OpenOffice.org\3\user\autotext\mytexts.bau'.
Comment 6 Thorsten Stache 2013-07-29 08:49:57 UTC
