Description georginikolov 2003-10-22 00:36:42 UTC
The steps to reproduce the problem are:
1. Start the Presentation component
2. Create any type of slide that has text in a box (eg. Title; Title, Text;
Title Only and so on)
3. Enter some text in the box (without clicking anywhere else move to step 4)
4. Select the Curve tool from the Presentation Toolbar
5. Place the cursor over the text
6. Try to draw a curve
The expected result is that it will draw a curved line over the text. The
actual result is that it gives the user control to move the box instead. The
problem can be avoided by clicking outside the box after compleating step 3,
but it is still an anoying issue.

Christian, this is a little bit like the last issue I send you about
the rectangle and the circle. Is our current selection handling is
realy that anoying? There was a reason we did it that way, but that
was before my time....

I have successfully replicated this defect in OO 1.1.4 under Windows XP. I
have followed the steps outlined above. From the follow up testing I also
noticed the following:
1.After entering text into a text box and clicking on Curve tool, the
application will not allow the user to draw directly over the text but will
move the entire text box instead. However, if the user places cursor anywhere
not directly over the text, there will be no problem.
2.Once a Curve has been placed, only then the application will allow to draw a
Curve over the text. The old Curve can be deleted and the new Curve can be
placed over the text without interruption.
3.However, if the text needs to be edited, repetition of step 3 and 4 from the
original guide will reproduce the problem again.
4.System has no such behavior using any other tools (connector, lines and
arrows) over the text.
