The choice of selecting a template for a new document by File -> New ->
From_Template ... [Template Chooser] was present in previous versions and was
very convenient, it seems to have been lost. 
Even if it is available somewhere else, it was much more convenient here!

In OOo 1.1.0(en) on Win98 it´s still there:
> File > New > Templates and Documents
(it doesn´t say "From Template", though)

Yes, granted, that is here also [WinXP + OOo 1.1.0-RC].

However, to my simple mind, that says "Go here to create a new template."
So, do you confirm?

Only after I´ve understood your issue, which I think I do now:

The issue is not about a feature having been dropped but about a
feature having a new, misleading name.

Set to New, and set to enhancement.

Actually, _both_ are appropriate, but they are different user activities.
Use Case 1: "I want to design or improve my bizletter templste."
Use Case 2: "I want to /use/ my bizletter template and write a letter."

latest versions of OOo, as the problem(s) may have already been addressed.

To grep the issues easier via "requirements" I put the issues currently lying on
my owner to the owner "requirements".
