Comment 1 stx123 2003-11-27 17:01:53 UTC
Hi,
I could change the generated output myself but would prefer if you
could review the source file and regenerate the files.
Btw, are you monitoring issue filed against the component support?
Greetings, Stefan

Hi, the links should point to http://download.openoffice.org/1.1.0/...
Btw, would you mind to commit the corresponding version of support.sdw?
Thanks, Stefan

Update to answer for faq #2815264 has been incorporated directly into the
ar01s03.html at user-faq/www/faq. This FAQ also lives in two other places:
http://www.oooauthors.org/FAQs/faqinstall/faqgeneraldownload/200, and
http://documentation.openoffice.org/faqs/installation/002.html.
Comment 8 diane 2004-12-23 03:22:05 UTC
Links need to be updated so they point to version 1.1.4.
Comment 9 diane 2004-12-23 03:22:45 UTC
accepting task.
Comment 10 diane 2004-12-23 03:24:14 UTC
reassigning issue to mackmoon.
Comment 11 diane 2004-12-23 03:26:51 UTC

Comment 12 stx123 2004-12-23 11:03:21 UTC
If you would like to avoid the need for an update with every minor version you
may want to use a more general phrasing and link to
http://download.openoffice.org/index.html#latest
for the latest stable release.
Comment 13 diane 2004-12-24 18:43:56 UTC
The latest release question has been generalized in a way that still points the
user to the information, so it will no longer needed attention at the time each
new release. The Md5Sums answer has also been generalized to save release
related updates.

Other links on this FAQ page that point to version related information which may
require updates for each OOo version released:

http://user-faq.openoffice.org/faq/ar01s03.html#id2815120

A generalized blurb has been added to the answer here, to help if the existing
data on the page becomes obsolete.

The user-faq project page is fully updated and will be uploaded momentarily.

Found another question on this page that requires further attention:

I think this user-faq page is now up to date. I will follow through to the other
locations of these same questions, to verify that they are up to date (and more
generic) too.
Comment 16 diane 2004-12-28 13:42:04 UTC
I believe all links to the current release in the product related FAQs are
updated or generalized. Thank you for that generalized link to the latest
release, Stefan.

What I learned during this exercise was that neither the release notes
questions, nor the MD5 checksum questions, from the user-faq project made it to
the OOoAuthors.org FAQ set. Perhaps they were purged for some reason, or maybe
they are placed somewhere that I have not yet found. Both of these FAQs seem
important and helpful. This shows us that we still need to nurture the user-faq
project FAQs, as there is good information there that is not shown in other places.

This news is discouraging and makes the FAQ collaboration more difficult to
organize into one place. I have now added a column to my FAQ spreadsheet that
will eventually show all the FAQs (by number) at the user-faq project too. Maybe
if I set up a column for each set, like a cross reference table, we will be able
to see what is where, and where it is not. It will take some time to pull this
data together so that it is useful.

I'm marking this issue as fixed.
