Background:
Professional translators use the word or character-count for the pricing of 
their offers. Since many documents are still formatted using spaces, these are 
usually not quoted. In the case of words this does not matter. But when pricing 
is based on characters, it does.

It would be nice to add a count of characters without spaces to the statistics.
