This happens with OOo1.1.0, not 1.0 as this issue page reports.
When I'm in QueryDesign View, and I'm writing the correspondent criteria, I have 
to write ISNOTNULL in one piece, then go back and insert the spaces. If do it 
the natural way, IS NOT NULL, the text disappears. I was using this QueryDesign 
view to have access to a spreadsheet table that was stored in another file.
The sql syntax is:
SELECT "ID", "CLIENTE", "N° SERIE TABLERO", "N° SERIE RELEVADORES", "VERSIÓN", 
"N° SERIE DISPLAY", "COMENTARIOS" FROM "form2000" "form2000" WHERE ( ( "N° SERIE 
TABLERO" IS NOT NULL ) )

Hi,

with languages of OOo do you use?
Does this error also occurr with the Bibliograph datasource and the biblio
table, or only with the specific table.

I'm sorry for the delay in reply. The problem arose when using a different table 
from the Biblio database. I use OOo in english, no localisation or Spanish 
language, for instance.
Today I tried with biblio, as you suggested, and there was no bug nor any 
problem writing the 'IS EMPTY' or 'IS NOT NULL' criteria.
