Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 23639
Overstrike characters fail to display
Last modified: 2005-05-31 18:24:25 UTC
I have been using the Greek font BwGrkl (You can get it free at: http://www.bibleworks.com/fonts.html ). This font uses the characters: `,./ and v for overstrike accents and breathing marks. In other words these add a mark over a previous character rather than inserting a new character. I was running OO 1.0.3 on my MAC (under YellowDog) and this font worked beautifully. I just recently switched to using my laptop (Running Win98 and OO 1.1) because I am on the road. OO 1.1 displays the greek characters fine, but when I try and enter an overstrike character, I get the English equivalent character on the screen and not a breathing or accent mark. I checked MS Word on the same machine and it displays the overstrikes correctly. For instance if I type: avgaph, I should get the Greek characters agaph with a smooth breathing mark over the 'a' and an acute accent over the 'h' Thanks for your help.
