Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 23649
Pasting part Calc Spreadsheet to Writer
Last modified: 2022-04-07 19:53:58 UTC
I think that it will be nice when Calc Spreadsheet would be paste to Writer as table by default but not as Object-OLE.
Reassigned to BH
Running linux and OOo 1.1.1a. I am unable to get a defined range table from Calc into Writer at all, not even as an OLE object. There may be a way to do it, but I remember the wonderful days when I could do it in Word. Perhaps just as useful, I was once able to write a spreadsheet table application in Word and have it act exactly as an Excel spreadsheet and even save it separately as an Excel spreadsheet for further modification if I wanted. As a minimum, I would like to "Insert" a Calc spreadsheet with an option to select the range I wanted imported and then be able to modify it the same way I can in Calc. Best of all would be to have the ability to make modifications and have them saved into the Calc file as well as being part of Word. This would mean I could modify the data either in the Calc document or as part of my editing of the Word document. At present, every attempt to put such a table into Word has failed.
