Description tutwabee 2003-12-18 03:04:55 UTC
I typed the word attaches into OpenOffice 1.1RC2 and it thinks it is spelled
incorrectly. According to http://www.m-w.com "attaches" is spelled correctly.
The dictionary file must be missing this word.

HI->TL: AFAIK our spellchecker will be renewed in future, isn't it.

Hi,

Yes, you are right. en_US.dic was missing an S suffix flag on the attach root word entry.

I have just added it.

./example en_US.aff en_US.dic huh.lst
"attach" is okay

"attached" is okay

"attaches" is okay

"attachs" is incorrect!
   suggestions:
    ..."attaches"
    ..."attach's"
    ..."attach"
    ..."attacks"
    ..."attach s"

This has now been fixed in my tree. I will commit the fix to both cws_src680_ooo20031216 and
to OOo 1.1.1.

If you find any other missing words that are commonly used like "attaches" please let me know
by filing an issue under the project lingucomponent, or emailing
dev@lingucomponent.openoffice.org, or e-mailing me directly (khendricks@openoffice.org)

Thanks,

Kevin

ps. If you want to hack around with your dictionary you can try the following with any text editor

- edit share/dict/ooo/en_US.dic

- change this line

attach/BLGZMDR

to look like the following

attach/BLGZMDRS

And save it (as just plain text) and you should be good to go.

Thanks for your bug report.

Kevin
