Description lsuarezpotts 2004-01-13 05:11:32 UTC
this is RFE language that we can post in tools...

1. OpenOffice.org invites you to propose new features and request
enhancements of the code, as well as help find and fix bugs and other
issues. But as in keeping with Open Source, the feature you want is more
likely to get implemented if you do it yourself or can make a compelling
case for why others should work on it. Our policy is that we follow a
roadmap and are thus obligated to work on Request for Enhancements (RFEs)
that fall within its scope.
2. Process: 1. To determine if your RFE is in the Roadmap or is anticpated as a likely focus of work,
please visit
http://tools.openoffice.org/

Nothing is fixed. The Concept Document (http://tools.openoffice.org/releases/q-concept.html) is
just that, a concept document. The document (and to a degree the roadmap) is an indication of
where developers wish to concentrate. It can thus be changed by you.

2. If your desired enhancement is not listed there it may already
have been filed as an RFE. We use IssueZilla to file RFEs; any member of
OOo is entitled to vote on the RFE issues. To check to see if your
particular RFE has been filed and to see the voting status, please go to
the QA issue vote page (http://qa.openoffice.org/iz_votes.html. )
 3. If you feel that your RFE is being unjustly
ignored, feel free to bring it to the attention of the community by
discussing it on the discuss@openoffice.org list

That should pretty much cover it.

I would use dev@ooo as escalation list.
Post in tools? I would host it at development.ooo and point to the document from
development.openoffice.org/index.html section "How to contribute".

i think tools was sugggested before we had the development category finalized (as it is more or
less now).
so, development is fine.

I don't know what the status of this is... if it is even still relevant. Ideas?

Hi Louis

I don't think this issue is still relevant. This issue is about pre historic development workflows at OpenOffice.org. We are now at Apache OpenOffice. Many workflows has changed. so I think this is anymore interesting. So I will close this issue.

Greetings Raphael
