scanned and imported grahics seem to disappear when an ooo document is converted
to a win-doc document

Which application are you using ? From your description it seems to be Writer.

please attach the offending document (the original ooo Writer document, which
you export to .doc format) to this issue, so that we can reproduce and fix the
problem here. You can also send the document directly (mru@openoffice.org) for
the case it contains confidential data. Feel free to re-open the issue when
you've done.

Documents casnnot be provided anymore. Thus the problem is not reproducable ->
issue closed.
