Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 26315
Numbering style can't be deleted when used by paragraph
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:38:26 UTC
If a paragraph is using a numbering style and I attempt to delete the numbering style, OOo doesn't delete the style and gives no indication of why the style is not deleted. Reproducible: Always Steps to reproduce: 1. Open a new text (Writer) document. 2. Start creating a numbered list. 3. Display the Stylist (F11) and click the Numbering Styles button. Select the numbered list and create a new numbering style for the list (Create Style from Selection) 4. With the numbered list still selected, go to Format > Paragraph... > Numbering tab. Make sure that the Numbering Style drop-down is set for the newly created numbering style. 5. Click OK. Right-click the numbering style in the Stylist and choose Delete from the context menu. 6. OOo warns "You are deleting an applied Style! Do you really want to delete..." Choose Yes. Actual Results: The warning disappears, but the style still remains. Expected Results: Either the style is removed, or OOo explains why the style cannot be deleted (in this case, because it's being used by a paragraph). If a different numbering style is selected in Format > Paragraph... > Numbering tab, the numbering style created in step 3 can be deleted without a problem.
MRU->PB: The rquest message suggests a behaviour which is not processed afterwards. When doing this with char or para styles it works. Only numbering styles have this problem.
Accepted.
PB -> HB: the result of a discussion with OS is that you a the right guy to remove this numbering style from all paragraphs and then delete it.
PB -> HB: you will find the code here: core/doc/docnum.cxx in method SwDoc::DelNumRule()
accepted.
