Description oe9fwv 2004-04-05 16:04:20 UTC
the support of Pagasus Mail in the File sendto function should be improved.
It is not possible in the current version I use. I think it could be done with
more open architecture to enter parameters to the Mail program.
In the moment I only can enter a path to a mailprogram if I choose one of the
supported programs in the list. It would be nice to have a choice of "any other"
program and an additional field where you can enter the necessary parameters for
the attached file.
Pegasus has the wsendto utility, which can work with a to: paraameter and a file
attachment parameter (2nd parameter) or a mailto: link.

thank you very much for your attention.

Actually we are planing to remove the command line option for mail clients
entirely for OpenOffice.org 2.0 on Windows because all major E-Mail clients have
support for the Microsoft Messaging API (MAPI).

From a quick search for "pegasus mail MAPI" I got the impression that Pegasus
Mail supports at least a subset of Simple MAPI, which should be sufficient to
make it work as "default e-mail client" in OpenOffice.org 1.1.

If it does not, I think the right way to fix this is to enhance MAPI support in
Pegasus Mail.
