Description norbert2 2004-04-14 21:01:37 UTC
This issue is thought to replace issue 27761. The problem(s) mentioned there are
only partially fixed in 680m34. Here I describe what problem still exists.
(So this issue is NOT a duplicate of issue 27761):

- Open a new (empty) spreadsheet
- Set B1 "=A1"
- insert a number in A1 (do not confirm)
- press EXC:
As you can see, the changes are not applied. This is OK.

- again insert any number into A1

- Press F2 (do not confirm):
The value in A1 is confirmed. You can see this because B1 gets this value.

- press ESC:
The value now IS (kept) applied. This is caused because of the bug that F2 (to
switch off reference-input-mode) confirms values.

Excel does not confirm values when pressing F2, and so Excel correctly does not
apply values in this case when cancelling the cell-edit with ESC.

I think you should do the same (not confirm entered values by pressing F2).
