Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 27828
DicOOo zip archives brakes dic install
Last modified: 2013-02-24 20:34:23 UTC
Hi, In mirror, archives are in wrong format Some changes has been made changes to be compliant with off-line packs but, even if DicOOo doesn't crash, the .dic, .aff ... can't be unzipped due to an extra level of zip eg fr_FR.zip should contain fr_FR.dic fr_FR.aff but now contains fr_FR_zip fr_FR.zip fr_FR.aff fr_FR.dic Nevertheless some mirrors are currently responding ith the old structure 2 solutions : - Correct each archives and go back to the previous structure - Release a new DicOOo version in a hurry What about other install tools that use these zip files ! I think they are also broken Laurent
Please find attach a new DicOOo release 1.2.5 i plan to release test it asap I did a hack to take into account possible nested zip files. Old zip structure is still possible Hope i didn't brake anything It wont work for MacOS 1.0.3 for now (have some more work to do if needed) Laurent
Created attachment 14525 [details] version 1.2.5 preview to be tested
Laurent, Why are some mirrors changing things unilaterally. We have one file format since the beginning and that format should not be changed. It should ONLY be fr_FR.zip fr_FR.aff fr_FR.dic README_fr_FR.txt And change in that format is an error. All of the manual install instructions and other dictionary installers depend on that format. We will not be changing it. So simply contact the mirrors and have them remove their "broken" files or remove them from the mirror list. Kevin
Kevin, The error is mine. I changed the format to allow keeping only one form of the dictionary. One that would work with the DicOOo both online and offline. If you feel it is an error, I will change them all to the original duplicated forms. Richard.
Hi Richard, I am not sure I understand the issue so I am unsure of the correct solution. Why would online versus offline format change things? What is the difference between DicOOo downloading into /tmp fr_FR.zip versus reading fr_FR.zip from some other file location? Why do we need the change the format? Thanks, Kevin
Kevin, I understand. Apologies for getting carried away with the changes. The old files are going back on stardiv. Perhaps the new changes to DicOOo will allow it to handle both the standard dict format as well as the double zipped lang pack format introduced with DicOOo. I am presently unable to commit since Sunday. Please roll back the file dictpack.html on lingucomponent to on or before 6-April-2004 that points to the dictionary pack files. Thanks, Richard.
Hi seems to be solved Closing the issue laurent
