Description richlv 2004-04-22 11:06:51 UTC
maximal zoom has a limit - 600%.
proposion - increase this limit to the one found in impress & draw - 3000%.

maximal zooms should be identical for all applications to reduce possible
confusion

this issue is connected to issue 28227, which deals with max zoom limit in calc

Comment 3 fousage 2004-08-10 20:27:42 UTC
... and it would be great if minimal zoom got lower than 20% (Calc and Writer).
I am working with huge paper sheets (the printer here can go up to 36"x590" :-D ).

Many thanks !

In 2.3.1 minimal zoom in Writer is still 20%, which makes it impossible to edit
positioning of objects on the entire page when working with dimensions over 5
times the respective dimension of the computer screen. This is a problem when
making large posters or signs or anything that exceeds about 3' in height. This
limitation is entirely artificial.

If this is a user interface issue (keep people from getting lost in their
document) than the outer zoom limit could be set to some multiple of the page
size, or be a configurable option, and the inner zoom limit could also be a
configurable option.
