Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 28291
Substitute for sversion file
Last modified: 2004-06-30 12:38:42 UTC
Using native installer we need a substitute for our current sversion file.
For Windows a new key is written into the Windows registry. For Unix, there is already the link /usr/bin/soffice. There will be no additional link. There will be files like /usr/bin/staroffice8 for the Unix system integration (another task). But making a non-root installation of a rpm using --relocatable makes it impossible to create links to find the office installation. But this is a very easy todo for the person, installing the Office as non-root und using --relocatable. Therefore this task is fixed with the Windows part.
I wrote task #i29341, in which the Unix testtool problematic has to be fixed.

IS -> MCI: For Windows the new key is written below HKCU/Softare/Sun Microsystem/StarOffice/8 or HKLM/Softare/Sun Microsystem/StarOffice/8 , dependent from the installation type. For Unix the link /usr/bin/soffice is created, which can be used to find the Office installation. Therefore this task is fixed.
IS -> MCI: Please verify.
