Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 28574
Sorting bibliography entries
Last modified: 2009-09-20 11:40:20 UTC
1. Allow sorting of the bibliography entries. If you want to insert a bibliography reference in the text, the entries in the selection list are presented in physical data base order. Even if you sort the entries by short name in "View, data base" the ordering of the short names is not affected. Enhancement: Allow Sorting of bibliography data base entries and let them be presented in this order. 2. Allow entering more than one character in the selection list If you want to insert a bibliography reference in the text, you can enter only one character. If you type a second one, a totally other short name is selected. Example: If you type M, you see the first entry beginning with M. If you then type a, the first entry beginning with A is shown. So, if you have many Short names beginning with f.e. M, you have to search the selection list. Enhancement: Allow typing more than one character, so that in the example the first entry beginning with Ma is shown. Guenter Marxen
MRU->ES: please evaluate before reassigning to Bettina.
Thank you for those good enhancement proposals! 1. It'a a duplicate of issue 4260. 2. it is a DEFECT because all list boxes have to accept multiple key input for tracking the right entry. Unfortunatly, we can't handle tasks containing multiple issues (Please refer to http://qa.openoffice.org/issue_handling/basic_rules.html). Please submit a new issue (DEFECT) for 2. and assign it to 'OS'. I close this task as duplicate. 4260 *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 4260 ***

I can not recognize, that (1.) is a duplicate of issue 4260. I suggest that the short names (identifiers) in the list box for inserting a bibliographic entry in the text are presented in an alphabetic sorted order and not in the physical data base order. Sorting should be possible by sorting the opened table biblio in the data source view. (Now you have to sort biblio physically, save it anew and use it then in a text document.) I will open (2.) in a new issue. G. Marxen
I've been a little bit too fast... We'll group enhancements for the bibliography in issue 4260 Now your proposal has been added
